If you compared Sun Country Airlines to other similar carriers, you would see distinctive qualities that would set it apart. The birth of Sun Country occurred from the circumstances of another airline that could no longer remain in business. Around Christmas of 2009, the airline made special arrangements to give nearly 80 children a trip to see Santa Claus at the North Pole. In fact, that is exactly what the program was called: A Flight to the North Pole. Local chapters of United Way – Big Brothers and Big Sisters were also involved in this event. They succeeded wildly with making those children very happy for the holidays. The children were taxied for about half an hour on the ground while Sun Country employees entertained them with details of a flight to the North Pole.
